Privacy policy
Last updated September 6, 2026. Applies to the free public analyzer.
AudienceNorth helps creators understand audience feedback. You do not need an account or access to your YouTube channel to use the public analyzer.
What we process
We retrieve public video metadata and a limited sample of top-level comments through YouTube API Services. This includes comment text, IDs, author display names and like counts. We analyze comments, not the video's audio, imagery, watch time or retention.
We use a browser identifier in local storage and a hashed network identifier to limit requests and prevent abuse. Your browser also remembers your light or dark theme. Infrastructure providers may process IP addresses and technical request logs to operate the service.
Analysis providers and sharing
If AI analysis is enabled, the public video title and a bounded sample of public comment text with temporary numeric references are sent to the configured OpenAI or Microsoft Azure OpenAI service to produce a report. Author display names and raw YouTube comment IDs are not included as separate model-input fields. Basic analysis may instead use local rules. Each new report identifies which method produced its takeaways. We do not use the comments to train our own shared models.
Preprocessing removes obvious links, mentions and email addresses from model input, but it cannot guarantee that public comment text contains no personal information. Suggestions are automated interpretations, not facts about every viewer.
A successful analysis can create a shareable report containing public video details, comment excerpts and recommendations. Anyone with its link can view it without signing in. Treat that link as public; do not submit confidential information.
Feedback and retention
Feedback, usefulness ratings and any optional email address are stored privately for product improvement, support and requested beta invitations. They are not displayed on your report.
Public reports expire after 30 days. Expired reports and their associated feedback are removed by scheduled cleanup. General feedback and anonymous request records are also removed after 30 days. Hosting backups and provider logs may have separate retention periods.
AI briefs may be reused for the same comment sample for up to 24 hours to avoid duplicate processing. The cache contains bounded AI output and references, not a second complete copy of the fetched comments. Expired cache entries are removed by scheduled cleanup.
